First, great location. Easy to walk to the tomb mounds and exhibits. Lots of restaurants and shops, grocery store, tourist street. Bus stop around the corner. Room was nice size, bath huge, A/C didn’t work at first but was fixed. Bed was comfortable. McDonald’s next door for me breakfast.

Had a great stay. Close to touristy spots, a convenience store is right around the corner, and it is very close to the express bus terminal. Good breakfast & coffee is available all day long. Staff was kind enough to send us via post one of our belongings that we forgot to take with us. Def recommend!

Pretty town and worth seeing with wonderful restaurants but the burial mounds visit is a must. Very well organized with information centres.
The Hanok village is also interesting and has great restaurants.

I wish I had stayed at least another day to take in everything Gyeongju has to offer. Going with a guide who drove us around and knew all the ins and outs of restaurants and other places to visit was key to making our short visit so memorable.

In total spent around four days in Gyeongju and the surrounding area. The main part of the city is pretty typical of Korean cities. The main attractions are to the south. It is steeped in history and a great place to learn about Korean heritage. Tombs of former kings, partially recreated palaces, stunning bridges, fields of colourful flowers and some streets with fantastic restaurants and shops. Much of the historic area is laid out in beautifully maintained parks and gardens. A highlight and one of our favourite places on our 2.5 weeks trip to Korea. There are two national parks near by offering good walking opportunities. We undertook one short walk to Chilbul-am temple which was incredibly scenic.

A city with a rich history.
A city with a rich history. Lots of artifacts, museums, nature to enjoy. Very generous and comprehensive information from brochures can be easier found. Tourist information centers are really helpful places. The parks are really one of its kind....so beautiful and we'll thought out to make sure that all visitors can enjoy. Security is good in the touristy places.
Perfect for a short stay in Gyeongju. The hostel is within walking distance of everything to see in town or the bus going to Bulguksa. The staff was wonderful, shout out to Tina. They were happy to give recommendations and ask how your day was every time with a smile. It's super clean and the entire space feels super well designed from the beds, showers and kitchen. The breakfast is also a great addition, especially for such a cheap price.
Overall you can't go wrong with this place considering the price and value.
Absolutely wonderful facilities and location. The continental breakfast had a great selection of fruits along with drinks, toast and eggs. The guesthouse is super close to Cheomseongdae, so we were able to catch the sunrise! We were pleasantly surprised that the bathroom floor was also heated, as we stayed during the winter. Also very close walk to Hwangridan-gil too. The host also provided sightseeing maps and guided us on various places within walking distance to visit as it was our first time in Gyeongju.
The house itself had everything you need for a pleasant stay, even if the hanok is very traditional. The owners preserved the beauty of the house well.
It is located further from the hustle and bustle of the touristy area, hence you get a good night's rest.
The owners were incredibly accomodating, explained what we should see in Gyeongju, recommended a great local place for dinner and even arranged a taxi to come and take us to the train station in the morning.
A wonderful experience!
Hello everyone, this is not my first visit to South Korea and I am always very happy about it, I was very pleasantly surprised by this hotel on the shore of a magnificent lake, everything around the lake is surrounded by green trees, when the sakura blossoms and you see it, it’s just a DELIGHT! I recommend to everyone ! and definitely excursions, evening and daytime.
Overall a relaxed atmosphere. Very friendly owner, who also prepares the breakfast eggs himself. Free use of the coffee/espresso machine in the common area. Traditional Korean large and well equipped rooms. The main attractions in Gyeongju are located within walking distance, as well as the bus terminal for more distant tourist destinations.
Nice hotel in the city center, virtually all attractions are within walking distance.
The rooms are quite big and it's quiet. There are plenty of restaurants and coffee places around. If you want a cheap dinner, visit the nearby market.
They have a place to store your bag if you're early, and there is a convenience store around the corner.
This is the best hotel I have ever stayed in Korea in terms of value for money, comfort, after-sales service, and breakfast.
If you are going to Gyeongju for vacation or a conference and need a central location, comfortable rooms with top-notch facilities, and a moderate budget, go to the SUGAR hotel...
Everything about this property was great - staying in a traditional Korean hanok, its location in Gyeongju, the incredibly kind owners, the comfortable mattress on the floor and even the ondol heating was always on at the right times and always at a comfortable temperature (never too hot).
The view from the room was spectacular. Overall the room was very comfortable and spacious. The staff was very kind. Very nice coffee shop/bakery ADEN near the hotel. The hotel has near an amusement park and pool club. I think it is more suitable for families with kids.
Large comfortable room. Breakfast was not included but at just 3000 won it was excellent value. The basement area also had a small art gallery and was an attractive and relaxing environment for breakfast. Hotel was also in walking distance from attractions.
Really great option if you want to explore Gyeongju! The bus stop if you want to go to the Bulguksa temple is also nearby as well as bus terminals. We had everything we needed for our stay including eggs "for cook it yourself" breakfast! Highly recommended!
a family owned hotel, typically korean. Room and bath are very clean, the hanok is just in front of national museum (just cross the road), a 15 min walk from city center and all monuments, and near bus stop. And we were warmly welcomed !
Really modern, clean place, perfectly placed for a walk around the ‘Tomb district’. Really recommend it as a base for some touring of Gyeongju. It has a nice common area to meet people and plan your day!
A small hotel but a huge hospitality to all the guests here. The hotel arranged all facilities like guest kitchen, washing machine, dryer machine, coffee machine…. Anything you need, just ask them
Authentic experience in South Korea - really liked the guesthouse with Kenti (the dog). Great location and friendly guests who were up for a chat. Comfy beds and clean facilities.
