Jeju is a feast for the eyes!
Jeju is a feast for the eyes! We visited in winter and I thought it would be gloomy but I was wrong. During our visit, it's perfectly wintry cold under the sunny skies. We visited UNESCO designated heritages (We got to hike the snowy Hallasan!), museums, parks, beaches, and a ton of restaurants! The food was great! Personally, I think the food and admission fees to the places we visited are affordable and really worth our money. We enjoyed our stay in Jeju a lot that we wish we could've stayed there longer. We will surely be back!

We were visiting in the winter, it wasn't busy and we could get around without any issues. The only day which was more difficult was new years, understandable.
The taxi's are very affordable, often it was cheaper to get a taxi than travel by bus (party of 3).
We found everywhere to be clean and plenty of restrooms.
The downside is that the travel information is often not up to date. We ended up booking a guide one day, if we hadn't two of the attractions we had planned to go to were closed (this was not posted in English anywhere) but the guide knew. One was the Manjanggul Cave, which will be closed for a year by the sounds of it.
The KakaoMap app is handy to workout how to get about and really good for figuring out the buses. KakaoT for taxis, we tried Uber too but it was very hit and miss.
There are a good variety of attractions for all ages. Generally speaking it didn't feel very accessability friendly.
It is worth hiring a guide for a day, not only does it remove the stress of trying to figure everything out but they can also tell you much more about the place than you will get from a guide book.

Jeju Island is nothing short of amazing and beautiful.
Jeju Island is nothing short of amazing and beautiful. My time there felt like a dream, and the only regret I had was that my visit was too short to explore all that this stunning island has to offer. The experience and the feeling of being surrounded by such natural beauty and unique culture are truly one-of-a-kind.
Every corner of Jeju Island seems to be a picturesque postcard waiting to be captured, from its lush landscapes to the breathtaking coastline. I was left in awe of the island's natural wonders, from the volcanic formations to the pristine beaches.
The local culture and warmth of the people added an extra layer of charm to my trip. The island has a distinct character that is both inviting and captivating.
As I left Jeju Island, I couldn't help but wish for an opportunity to return soon. It's a place that leaves an indelibl mark on your heart, and I can't wait to explore more of its wonders in the future."

The list of great things in Jeju is long.
The list of great things in Jeju is long. JeJu city is cool and worth a day or two. Take the city bus tours - one does the city and the other cruises around the coastal parts of the town. It's a hop on and off situation. Then get across to Seogwipo - inexpensive bus from the airport - and bask in the joy of being in this magical seaside town. Give it a few days. The food is amazing everywhere and in this fishing town the seafood is simply amazing. A rental car is a plus at this point as many of the best places need some transportation - do the National Park and the lava tubes as well as some of the more remote beaches. On an island that has 16 million visitors a year it's hard-to-impossible to get into a truly remote beach but then again it's a chance to enjoy people watching in a beautiful place- Koreans do selfies and groupies better than anyone and they appear to absolutely love it.
This place has a very interesting thing: it's preserved in time, so you get a 70s/80s like Korean retro vibe. It's interesting because you can tell the owners are preserving it and it's good. It's very clean and the staff was helpful. There's a bathtub and there are big towels (a rare thing in Korea) and it's great. If you're more of a modern-type of rooms/hotels kind of person this is not your place. The location is very convenient considering the places you can go to from Jeju city.
Fantastic location: taxi from airport to here is only a few dollars. And there's a direct bus stopping right in front of it too! Also perfect for exploring Jeju.
The place is seriously clean. Like, for real - the room was truly spotless. The bed was super comfy. It's tastefully decorated and homey/cozy. The staff is super friendly and speaks english. Big rain shower, but also mini fridge, sink, microwave. For this price, an absolute steal.
The property knows exactly what the guests need: air freshener, loads of toilet paper, towels unlimited,
hair dryer, etc. But what I like most about the place is its clean floors, like no dust sticked on my feet unlike in other hotels I had stayed in Korea before. It’s a quiet place too, I had a good sleep during my 3 nights there. Gonna stay at Yong Stay again when I revisit Jeju.
great location in Jeju city, lots of restaurants and shops around. There’s a lot of nightlife within less than a 5min walk and easy access to buses to go to Mazeland, the caves, Seogwipo etc
Breakfast was included and was eggs, toasts, coffe and juice, pretty good for the price
Free laundry onsite and paid drying machine (however there are free to use drying racks too)
Liked the car parking service provided, just drive into the hotel porch and the staff will help you park your car in their car park lift thingy.
Staff were friendly and helpful.
Free sandwich in the morning.
Convenient location from the airport, but far from places of interest since the hotel is at the North part of jeju.
Great location in a quieter part of Jeju-do with some funky cafes & restaurants nearby, great sea views (including a patio with chairs to lounge in), generous service (the staff we interacted with spoke English), excellent breakfast buffet with a mix of Korean and Western-style offerings and local produce.
Very convenient location inside Jeju city, walking distance to bus stops to and from Jeju airport. Simple room yet had everything we needed and we felt very comfortable. The hotel is also a social enterprise, the staff is super polite and helpful. Around the hotel have GS25 and many food stores.
I liked how clean the place was, good amenities and fresh bottles of water everyday. It was a very large room compared to normal hotels in Korea. I had no problem with the aircon like other reviews had and I stayed in peak summer 35 degree days.
It was great for the price. It's near the lotte rental car place. And it's 13 min driving from a beach. Not walking distance. 20kwon for breakfast was pretty good. Staffing was pretty nice. Specially the guy working at night in the parking lot.
Location is excellent, Dongmun market exits 1,2,3 and Black pork street are easily reachable on right and left side of hotel lobby. Cafe downstairs offer great food as early as 730am and good coffee and they will deliver to room at no charge.
I like that the location was near the sea, at the north of Jeju City. The area around the hotel is very convenient as well, with good access to food, convenience stores and even eMart! You can also walk to Dongmun Market.
I would definitely choose this hotel if I’m ever back in Jeju city. The hotel staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The bedroom was very comfortable - bed, pillows, size of the room. Location was central in Jeju city.
Hotel was close to the centre of jeju and close accessibility to convenience stores , bus stop. Hotel is on the main road of Jeju and comfortable stay. Rooms were quite spacy and comfortable bed
Walking distance to Jeju Intercity Bus Terminal if you wish to travel via bus instead of renting cars. Prompt actions from hotel staffs whenever ee have enquiries. Easy communication.
Thank you Lotte City Hotel and staff. Loved the mountains and city view from level 21 room 2102.
Comfy relaxing stay for the last day in Jeju.
Will try the massage service next time.
