Mokpo and the area is amazing. Lots of things to see and do.
Mokpo and the area is amazing. Lots of things to see and do. It is an area for driving as things are spread out, but lots to do and see in town with some great restaurants. Museums are good and touring the islands is a must do! Mokpo is a growing area that has much to offer. It isn't Seoul, but it is on one of the most picturesque regions of Korea. Take a day to travel the islands to the West, then another day South, then explore the mountains to the East. High-end hotels are in short supply in the area, but there a lot of good hotel options.

In a country with so many big cities, Mokpo felt more like a large country town with its friendly, laid back atmosphere. I was there in October an the weather was great. I liked that you could just haooen across a charming old style plant shop on the same street as designer clothes, boutique coffee and Baskin Robbins icecream! You can have the thrill of a glass bottom cable car ride across the harbour, then go for a calming stroll along a seaside boardwalk.... with sculptures along the way. I took the ferry to Jeju Island from Mokpo, it was a very cruisy ride. I wish I had more time in Mokpo, guess I'll just have to go back.

It seems to be a quiet place, but maybe it is because we were there on a Sunday. All the attractions are close together, so you could cover a few in a short time. Everywhere is close-by, thanks to their bus system.Farhaana bintiMalaysia
