A popular gateway for visiting Seoraksan National Park.
A popular gateway for visiting Seoraksan National Park. Sokcho Tourist & Fishery Market is a large traditional market offering many local products (eg. fresh and dried seafood) and local street food. Convenient bus services operate within Sokcho and out of Sokcho. There is a beach at the southern end of the city. We saw several new high rise buildings under construction indicating further expansion of the city in the near future.

I really like to visit seoraksan national park for mount hiking.
I visited Sokcho fish market and had King crab.
Bus 7 and 7-1 go to Sokcho express bus terminal/ Sokcho intercity bus terminal/ Sokcho seafood market.
I used to stay resort before. It is nice and good scenery but I had to use taxi all the time. I stayed near Sokcho express bus terminal/Sokcho beach this time, it save lots of transportation cost, so I enjoyed king crab.

Sokcho is a great city.
Sokcho is a great city. It is close to the national park, and the park is exceptional. The beach is nice. Public transit is clean and efficient. Taxis are readily available and clean/safe. Restaurants, cafes and market food options are unlimited.
The is a not springs foot bath in Sockcho that I have never experience elsewhere and is a great stop. We could have spent a week in the National Park on trails.

The beach was nice: not too crowded on week days but a little overcrowded on weekends. The sand was a little rough, so by the end of the day my feet were sore. If I went again I would only stay Monday-Friday, as parking near the beach was impossible to find on Saturday.

Visions of Sokcho: where the mountains meet the sea.
Sokcho-si is a beautiful coastal city located in the northeast of the Gangwon-Do province of South Korea.
The city is famous for its history, culture, national parks, natural beauty, and local cuisine. The city is a popular gateway to the famous Seoraksan National Park.
Unfortunately it was raining and we couldn't hike Seoraksan, but we were able to stroll around the city.

Seoraksan National Park was nearby & have great hiking trails. Lotsa of attractions & attractions in the city. Plentiful seafood available. There’s also chicken Dalai which is stir fried chicken with assortment. Stayed for 2 nites. Maybe should have an additional nite to explore more 😀 I drove but you can walk around.
What a beautiful place to stay! My room (spacious, welcoming, very modern and with a great bathroom) and a balcony overlooking the sea. The hotel is in a magical spot, not in the centre of Sokcho (but I had been there before, I wanted to explore the area) and you can really get an authentic experience with the atmosphere and the food. The convenience store inside the hotel is not a rarity in Korea, but I am still not used to it, I think it's so cool and convenient :) Super recommend if you want to visit the Daepo Port area.
The rooms were spacy and clean, the hotel was close to the bus lines both to the bus terminals and Seoraksan national park, the staff was very helpful and always reacted within minutes to inquiries via booking.com messages.
When we booked another night it was no problem to stay in our room for the additional night. :)
Also, there was a convenience store at ground level which was really cool.
The couple that runs The Blue Door are the nicest, most hospitable pair. Good English is spoken. Very kind and accommodating. Their dog Barry, a very friendly black lab, is an extra attraction. The location near the beach and near the Sokcho boardwalk is great. My single room was big enough for one person and very clean and comfortable.
The location and the lake view from the room was great. Plenty of space inside the room. Kids enjoyed playing games at the kids play area.. and the cozy massage chair in the lobby was awesome experience. The beaches were close by. Overall My family had a great time.. if we visit Sokcho again, we would love to stay at Lake Ocean..
Very kind and friendly host who was very accommodating. Breakfast was simple and delicous: Toast, cereal, coffee. Room was clean and shower was hot. It is a great location next to Seoraksan National Park. The bus Stop Sokcho District C is right next to the hotel/hostel and about 15 min from the park entrance.
The host is very welcoming and very kind. He drove us to Seoraksan entry, he called us taxi when we needed them, he picked us up at Sokcho to drive us back at the hotel one night.
The property is very clean and the location is ideal for a calm stay near the national park of Seoraksan.
I recommend this stay!
Very comfortable hotel, spacious and very clean with a good size, proper (with shower door which quite often is missing in some Korean hotels) bathroom. Good soundproofing. Sea facing room has a very nice view. English speaking Mr Jeong, the owner, is super friendly and helpful.
We loved the location as it was between the national park and Sokcho. We rented a car, so it was convenient for us to explore the area from Casa Seorak. The host was very friendly and breakfast was excellent with fruits and salad. The jacuzzi was a nice plus 😀.
It was very close to the intercity bus station, Lighthouse Observatory and Abai Village ferry. I borrowed a bike and rode to Sokcho Beach and Daepohang Port Light House.
My room was cozy, welcoming and clean. It was great for a one night stay.
Very good location, 5mins walking distance to Express bus terminal and to the beach. Family style hotel comes with washer and dryer. Room size is just nice for 2 adults. No bathtub, but bathroom was clean. Staffs at front desk were friendly.
The room is generally clean. The hotel is the best location for entry to the Seoraksan National Park, less than 10 minutes away. We also enjoyed the breakfast served, with good selection. It is better to have the room and breakfast package.
Very attentive and kind owner, prepared a tasty breakfast every morning for each guest. Comfortable, clean and spacious room. Good location next to Intercity Bus Station and within walkable distance of many Sokcho attractions.
This place is located very close to the famous Seoraksan National park. All Sokcho attractions are within a short drive distance. The room was quite standard and rather small, but OK for a short stay. Breakfast was excellent.
It’s proximity to Seoraksan National Park is awesome! Staff were helpful and changed our room when we found the Korea style beds a little to hard for us. The kitchen was outstanding in accommodating our vegan dietary needs.
It's cheap, quite big for 5 of us and clean.
Location, near to sokcho beach and Sokcho express bus terminal.
Lot of convenient stores nearby, still the enviroment is not too busy.
Side by side room
Quick check in & out
Modern, clean hotel with a very nice bath room. Good price. The best breakfast buffet during our trip. Bus to Seoraksan National Park has a stop 2 min (walking distance) from the hotel.
Great room and service, provides fresh towels and water bottles everyday. Easy checkin and check out process, and hotel reception was happy to store luggage after checkout.
