A popular gateway for visiting Seoraksan National Park.
A popular gateway for visiting Seoraksan National Park. Sokcho Tourist & Fishery Market is a large traditional market offering many local products (eg. fresh and dried seafood) and local street food. Convenient bus services operate within Sokcho and out of Sokcho. There is a beach at the southern end of the city. We saw several new high rise buildings under construction indicating further expansion of the city in the near future.

I really like to visit seoraksan national park for mount hiking.
I visited Sokcho fish market and had King crab.
Bus 7 and 7-1 go to Sokcho express bus terminal/ Sokcho intercity bus terminal/ Sokcho seafood market.
I used to stay resort before. It is nice and good scenery but I had to use taxi all the time. I stayed near Sokcho express bus terminal/Sokcho beach this time, it save lots of transportation cost, so I enjoyed king crab.

Sokcho is a great city.
Sokcho is a great city. It is close to the national park, and the park is exceptional. The beach is nice. Public transit is clean and efficient. Taxis are readily available and clean/safe. Restaurants, cafes and market food options are unlimited.
The is a not springs foot bath in Sockcho that I have never experience elsewhere and is a great stop. We could have spent a week in the National Park on trails.

The beach was nice: not too crowded on week days but a little overcrowded on weekends. The sand was a little rough, so by the end of the day my feet were sore. If I went again I would only stay Monday-Friday, as parking near the beach was impossible to find on Saturday.

Visions of Sokcho: where the mountains meet the sea.
Sokcho-si is a beautiful coastal city located in the northeast of the Gangwon-Do province of South Korea.
The city is famous for its history, culture, national parks, natural beauty, and local cuisine. The city is a popular gateway to the famous Seoraksan National Park.
Unfortunately it was raining and we couldn't hike Seoraksan, but we were able to stroll around the city.

Seoraksan National Park was nearby & have great hiking trails. Lotsa of attractions & attractions in the city. Plentiful seafood available. There’s also chicken Dalai which is stir fried chicken with assortment. Stayed for 2 nites. Maybe should have an additional nite to explore more 😀 I drove but you can walk around.
Amazing Location. Even though I booked a Deluxe Double Room, I still had sea view to the side. There is a fully equipped kitchen, including plates and a toaster, the only thing that was missing was cutlery and chopsticks. The bathroom was clean, towels are hidden behind the mirror. As the hotel is located right next to the sea, it takes 2-3 minutes to walk to the beach. The Sokcho Eye, convenience stores and coffeeshops are located close by and it takes 5-10 minutes to walk from the Sokcho Bus Terminal to the hotel.
Excellent location for the national park. I was able to get up early and walk 25 minutes to the park gate, before the crowds arrived at mid morning. There is also a bus that comes quite regularly. To get to the hotel from sokcho you can get a local bus which is quite regular- the same one as goes to the park entrance. The room was huge with just two bunk beds in. Everything was plain and simple, but clean and quiet. Helpful staff who let me store my bag until the afternoon while I was hiking in the park.
We have really liked the staff and the breakfast of the Sea Cruise. The Hotel is very nice too, located near the ocean and in the city centre of Sokcho. From nearby bus stations you can easily pick a bus to Seoraksan National Park, it is worth the visit (and walk :)). Also you can reach Naksansa Temple via taxi (faster than bus). The staff was outstanding. Very friendly and helpful, we thank them a lot. And also the breakfast was surprising, so big and full of anything you may wish.
The staff is very nice. The location is good, really near to bus terminal, just 5 minutes walk. But need to remind that Sokcho has 2 bus terminal. I am sorry that I forgot which bus terminal that near here. Here provide towel, hygiene products and hair dryer. Breakfast is provided too and is prepared by the owner, is so delicious. Whole vibe is this guesthouse let me feel comfortable. I only recorded video for this guesthouse, the only photo that I took is the breakfast so FYR
James is SO kind and helpful. He was able to give us food recs for the area, tips for getting to the national park, and help us book the bus onward to Jeonju. The breakfast here is simple but since most stays in Korea don't have free breakfast this was wonderful. Best of all, the rooms are super clean and warm and the place is within walking distance to the local bus terminal and within walking distance of all the attractions you might want to see in Sokcho town.
The location is just perfect. Busstop nearby. Around the corner a great coffeeshop and convenient store. A lot of restaurants nearby where you can also can get a take away. Fish market, Abai village and Sokcho beach are also nearby. From the busstop you can go to Seokraksan Park. There is no reception. The rooms are in the Sunrise Hotel. When you arrive at your check in time you receive by What's app a message with instructions a link for you code for your room.
The owner was super sweet, took the time to show me on a map the best tourist attractions in Sokcho and how to get around using the public bus systems. The location is fantastic, 3 min from the intercity bus terminal and 2 min from the public bus station that will take you the national park. The hostel facilities are great, there is free laundry. I had a room with a private bathroom, everything was very clean. I highly recommend.
Very clean, spacious room, free water refill. Thanks to staff, Lee Jong Guem, who is still helpful despite a fractured finger. Opposite the Express Bus Terminal and 5 minutes by taxi (5000w) from the Intercity Bus Terminal. Bus stop with buses to the Seoraksan National Park (about 30 mins) is just in front of the hotel (No.7 & 7-1), comes frequently. Note the last bus coming back.
Coin laundry machine is 5 minutes walk away.
The couple that runs The Blue Door are the nicest, most hospitable pair. Good English is spoken. Very kind and accommodating. Their dog Barry, a very friendly black lab, is an extra attraction. The location near the beach and near the Sokcho boardwalk is great. My single room was big enough for one person and very clean and comfortable.
The location and the lake view from the room was great. Plenty of space inside the room. Kids enjoyed playing games at the kids play area.. and the cozy massage chair in the lobby was awesome experience. The beaches were close by. Overall My family had a great time.. if we visit Sokcho again, we would love to stay at Lake Ocean..
Nice & simple rooms and very friendly and helpful staff. Bed heater! (Very nice after a rainy hike) Good location for reaching Seoraksan park and you could also easily arrive from Sokcho station with bus 7-1. I loved the atmosphere around the place with the abandoned hotels!European breakfast and convenience store nearby.
We had a great day at Story House! The rooms were clean and spacious, the breakfast was filling and the host was very friendly! The location is close to the Harbour and from the Express Bus Terminal it takes about 20-30min by bus to get to the property! Overall, it was very nice and adequate for the price!
Excellent location - short walking distance from Sokcho Express bus terminal,l beach, convenience stores.
Clean, quiet, modern room with full kitchen facilities and washer.
Easy self check-in with door code provided before arrival.
Room has good ocean view although partly blocked by another building.
Serene and spacious accommodation. At basement 1 of hotel, there is a convenience store, a fast food restaurant, a small game arcade, a photo booth (fun shots) and a Korean restaurant. The scenery from our room was amazing. Parking is also free and there were many lots available when we visited in Dec.
My family of 5 loved this Bed and Breakfast. This was our first time visiting Sokcho and it was a great choice staying at this location. The hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating! The breakfast was great, beds were comfortable and rooms were clean. Will definitely book here again!
James was incredibly helpful in helping us plan our trip to Seoraksan National Park, as well as showing us the highlights of Sokcho on a map. We visited many of the places James recommended and had a great time.
This location and this hotel reminds me my vacations in Swiss Alps. The breakfast is quite good. Dining salon has a very beautiful view especially in the winter. After a long hiking, it is a nice place to rest.
Worst facility ever stayed…2 star facility and service at best, rated as 4 star and priced as 4 star hotel.
Called the front desk for toilet paper, and were told to come down to front desk to fetch it.
Nice location-great ocean view and 10 mins by car to Sokcho city center, nice sea hot spa in the resort, also can enjoy a private beach during both of summer and winter time
