This 4-day tour of western Korea is filled with a variety of distinct Korean cuisine and the beautiful scenery of the countryside. Somewhat off the beaten path, this western Korea tour is different from eastern Korean tours because the cities that you will visit are not as well known to most people. The tour kicks off in Seoul, goes through the south-western part of Korea with stops in Daejeon and Jeonju, and then heads off to Odongdo Island in Yeosu before finally ending back in Seoul.This delightful cultural experiences of unknown but famous sites will amaze you as a veteran guide escorts you throughout the 4 day course. This tour offers you the opportunity to be adventures and visit the parts of Korea that are not that well-known today!

Day 1 (Sat): Seoul – Gongju – Daejeon (L,D)
Meet up with your guide in the lobby of either the Lotte Hotel or the Center Mark Hotel in central Seoul. Have lunch upon arriving in Gongju and then head over to the first stop of Gongsanseong Fortress, a mountain castle which was established during the Baekje Period (18BC–660AD). Then, experience a tea ceremony with a Buddhist monk at Magoksa Temple, a representative temple surrounded by a mountain and rivers in Chungcheongnam-do Province, in Daejeon.

Day 2 (Sun): Daejeon – Jeonju – Jinan – Gwangju (B,L,D)
After breakfast, visit Jeonju Hanok Village with over 800 traditional Korea houses. You will then have lunch at a local Jeonju Bibimbap restaurant. Jeonju bibimbap is a “Royal Cuisine” and it was known as one of the 3 best dishes in the Joseon dynasty (1392~1910). After lunch, explore Tapsa Temple, famous for having over 80 stone pagodas built by Lee Gapyong, a retired scholar.

Day 3 (Mon): Gwangju – Boseong – Suncheon – Yeosu (B,L,D)
After breakfast, head over the Green Tea Plantation which originated from the mountain valleys south of Boseong. The area has been a tea plantation area since the days of the Japanese occupation. Next, visit Naganeupseong Folk Village where you can observe the daily dwellings of the people indigenous to the south provincial area. Have lunch at a local restaurant and then explore Suncheonman Bay Ecological Park which is covered with thick reeds taller than a full-grown man. Then, stop by Yongsan Observatory to see the bay’s beautiful view. For the last stop of the day, visit Suncheonman Bay Eco-Museum which was established to provide a research and education facility to preserve the area’s natural habitats.

Day 4 (Tue): Yeosu – Jinju – Seoul (B,L,)
After breakfast, take a ferry to Odongdo Island where you can simply walk along the breakwater with 70 species of wild flowers. You will have seasonal local food as lunch and then visit Jinjuseong Fortress which is historically linked to the Japanese invasion in 1592. After that, it will be time to return to Seoul. Drop off service is available at the Lotte Hotel and Center Mark Hotel.
