South Korea is one of the world’s only divided country, and the Korean Demilitarized Zone remains along the Military Demarcation Line which separates the two “Koreas”. South Korea is also very well known for having one of the toughest neighboring countries to deal with, North Korea. Since the end of the Korean War in 1953, the DMZ (Demilitarized Zone) has remained one of the most heavily guarded areas in the world. It also happens to be right outside of Seoul. Experience this area and see the reality with your own eyes on this 9-hour day trip to the DMZ and 3rd Infiltration Tunnel with lunch and free hotel pickup and drop-off included.

First, you will meet up with your tour guide at the lobby of your hotel or near your location between 7:30am and 8:30am. The first stop is the Imjingak Pyeonghoa-Nuri Peace Park which is located across from Imjingak and is a symbol of the North-South divisions, which has many memorable statues such as ‘Windy Hill” for the peaceful reunification of the Koreas.
Then you will move on toward the 3rd Infiltration Tunnel that was discovered on Oct 17, 1978 and located 52 km from Seoul. It is estimated that about 30,000 soldiers could move through the tunnel each hour.
After seeing this, you will head to the Dora Observatory where North Korean military personnel are visible. Then you will stop by the Dorasan Station, a railway station on the Gyeongui Line, which is the northernmost stop on South Korea’s railway line. You will also see the Unification Village, known as Tong-il-chon, which is nearby the DMZ. After experiencing this very exciting and intense tour, you will enjoy your lunch at a local restaurant before returning to Seoul.
Finally, you will travel back to Seoul and be dropped off at your original departure hotel around 4pm.
