This tour will help you understand the history of the division of Korea and the tragedy of war. You will also come to realize what kind of suffering Korea went through and how it recovered to get to where it is now. Afterwards you will enjoy your lunch and visit N Seoul Tower.
Hotel pickup for this tour will be at 8 or 8:40am in Seoul. From there, you will head to Imjingak Pavilion, located at 50km northwest of Seoul. This pavillion was built for 5 million people who had lost their homes. Major facilities include the North Hall where you can get a view of the North Korean lifestyle.
After the Imjingak, you will head to the DMZ, a demilitarized zone formed after the Korean War between South and North Korea. It is 2km wide in the North and 4km wide in the South based on the truce line crossing the Korean Peninsula. Visitors can see that the DMZ areas ecosystem has been preserved.
After the DMZ portion of the tour, you will go to the third infiltration tunnel which was discovered in October 1978. This tour will show you through the 3rd underground tunnel that North Korea, which has been continuously provoking the South since the armistice, had dug for a surprise attack on South Korea.
Then you will visit Dorasan station, the northernmost station in South Korea, which was planned to be connected to the Gyeongui Line and linked to the European continent via the Siberian Railway. Then you will go to the Dora Observatory where you can view the North Korean propaganda village in the DMZ and as far north as the city of Gaeseong.
After the Dora Observatory, you will see the Unification Village nearby the DMZ which is civilian-controlled by the government. Then head to lunch.
After lunch, you will visit N Seoul Tower, the landmark of Seoul and enjoy the traditional performance. The N Tower, a complex culture space in Seoul, is where the clouds seem to meet with Namsan Mountain. The tower was built in 1969 on the highest point of Seoul so that visitors can enjoy the best panoramic views of the city. It was originally Koreas first radio wave tower but has then been opened to the public in 1980, becoming a popular tourist attraction and a resting place for citizens. Thousands of padlocks and love notes decorates the fence on one of the Roof Terraces, symbolizing the couples strong love. Get your own love padlock too.
You will be dropped off around 4pm.
