Enjoy an evening out in Seoul that starts with a sightseeing cruise on the Han River (Hangang) and ends with a classic Korean snack. On the 1-hour river cruise, see landmarks such as the 63 City Building, N Seoul Tower and the Seoul Olympic Stadium. Then visit Gwangjang Market, one of the biggest and oldest traditional markets in Korea, to try a favorite local dish called bindaetteok, a savory pancake cooked right before your eyes at a market food stall. An informative guide provides commentary during this 4-hour tour.
After hotel pickup in the early evening, travel by coach to the dock for your first activity, a 1-hour cruise on the Han River.
Board the large ferry and hear informative commentary from your guide as you watch the city light up for the evening. See landmarks like Jeoldusan Park, the 63 City Building, N Seoul Tower and the Seoul Olympic Stadium (Jamsil Sports Complex), built for the 1988 Summer Olympics and the 10th Asian Games. As your boat passes under some of the citys 27 bridges, note how some of them glow with colorful light displays designed by artists.
Once you have seen the city from the river, disembark the ferry and head with your guide to Gwangjang Market, one of Koreas largest traditional markets. For more than 100 years, locals have shopped at Gwangjang for housewares, clothing and hanbok (traditional Korean dress), but the market is best known for its mouthwatering array of freshly prepared dishes made by food vendors on the first floor.
Follow your guide inside, walking under the market’s arched glass roof and along lanes lined with food stalls. Watch the action as chefs cook up sizzling snacks in open-air kitchens, and take a seat at the counter of a favorite vendor to try bindaetteok a thick pancake made of mung bean batter with meats and vegetables, then dipped in soy sauce seasoned with green onion and pepper. Savor the pancake with a glass of makgeolli (rice wine) for a classic Korean street food combo.
After your snack, you have some time to check out other parts of the market before re-boarding your coach for hotel drop-off.
Please note: A minimum of two people per booking is required.
