On this tour, you will visit the Buddhist temple in the city, the Presidential Blue House Square and Gyeongbokgung Palace for 3.5 hours with a small group. First, you will visit Jogyesa temple that represents Buddhism in Seoul and pass by the Cheongwadae, the Presidential Blue House, that symbol of with blue tiles and move on to Gwanghwamun Gate to see the royal guard changing ceremony. After the ceremony, you will explore Gyeongbokgung Palace that is also referred to as the northern palace. Also you will visit a museum called the National Folk Museum, where you can see how Koreans from a few centuries ago lived.
You will be picked up from your centrally located hotel in Seoul and move toward the Jogyesa to experience the Zen Buddhism of Korea. Next, you pass by the Presidential Blue House. Although you can’t go into the area due to a security issue, you will be able to take a photo at the Blue House Square and enjoy the harmonic beauty of Mt Bukak showing its face behind the blue-tiled house.
Next, move to the Gwanghwamun Gate to see royal guard changing ceremony that starts with an announcement that the gate guards are changing. When ceremony is finished, you will explore the Gyeongbokgung Palace to learn how the royal families and court attendants lived and worked in the palace.
In National Folk Museum, you can explore how Koreans lived from the Goryeo dynasty (918AD to 1392AD) to the Joseon dynasty (1392AD to 1910AD).
After the palace tour, you will stop by the Korean Ginseng center. Then, the tour will conclude at the drop-off location (either at the City Hall or at Insadong).
Please note:
On Mondays, Changdeokgung Palace is closed, and you will go to Namsan Korean traditional Hanok Village instead.
On Tuesdays, the Gyeongbokgung Palace and National Folklore museum are closed, and you will go to Deoksugung Palace and The Presidential Blue House Museum instead.
