Step back in time to an era when the Joseon kings ruled Korea on this full-day tour of Seoul. Explore the UNESCO World Heritagelisted Suwan Hwaseong Fortress as a guide sheds light on Koreas Joseon Dynasty history. Admire traditional Korean architecture at the ancient Hwaseong Haenggung Palace. Visit the Korean Folk Village where artisan blacksmiths, potters and weavers ply their trade and gain insight into 500 years of Joseon rule.
Meet your guide in the morning at your centrally located Seoul hotel, then begin your tour with a visit to the UNESCO World Heritagelisted Suwan Hwaseong Fortress. Built during the latter part of the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910), Suwan Hwaseong is widely considered among the regions most impressive fortresses.
Next, hop aboard the Hwaseong trolley a tourist trolley that travels between Mt Paldalsan and Yeonmudae and visit Hwaseong Haenggung Palace. (Please note that it may not be possible to take the trolley due to bad weather or unpredictable situations on the day of the tour). During your tour, admire the palaces iconic architecture and gain insight into life under Joseon Dynasty rule.
After lunch (own expense), visit the Korean Folk Village a museum that depicts life in Korea as it was several centuries ago. As you explore, see blacksmiths, potters and weavers at work, and learn of the traditional trades by which Korean artisans used to make their living.
Admire over 250 traditional houses and perhaps catch a performance of traditional folk music and dance at the amphitheater. Then, return in comfort to your hotel in Seoul where your tour will come to an end.
