Follow your guide from the pick-up point at City Hall Metro Station to your first stop at Deoksugung Palace. Deoksugung Palace features diverse architecture, as 500 year-old traditional buildings sit next to Medieval buildings, and modern highrises stand tall over the historic palace walls. As you explore the palace with your guide, enjoy the breathtaking panoramic views which provide you with great photo opportunities.
After spending an hour in the palace compound, your guide will lead you to Jeongdong-gil. This beautiful neighborhood is well known for having Seoul’s first Westernized modern buildings in the late 19th century, some of which still remain today. Experience a quieter side of Seoul as you walk along the Deoksugung Palace Stone Wall, and enjoy a glimpse back in times to the era of modernization.
After walking through Jeongdong-gil for 15 minutes, end up at Gyeonghuigung Palace. This palace went through the most changes during the period of Japanese occupation in Korea. After taking a look inside the palace, you will head to the Seoul Museum of History. Here, your guide will teach you about the history and culture of Seoul from the Joseon Dynasty to the present day. Enjoy the museum’s Seoul Panoramic Theater exhibition hall which contains an amazingly precise model of Seoul built to a scale of 1/1,500.
After your time at the Seoul Museum of History, your guide will take you to JeongDong Theater where you will be watching a 75 minute performance titled ‘YOULL,’ a heroic story that showcases Korean traditional performance arts and three-dimensional stage and dance. Your tour concludes at JeongDong theater.
